The cost of housing is skyrocketing across the country, and military families are feeling the strain. Unlike civilians, servicemembers don\u2019t get to choose where they live. They move frequently, making homeownership difficult, and their spouses often face job instability due to these relocations.

For those living on-base, the government covers 100% of their housing costs. But for the majority of servicemembers\u2014about two-thirds of the force\u2014who must live off-base, their Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) only covers 95% of rent and utilities. That leaves military families paying out of pocket just to afford a roof over their heads.

This cost-cutting measure is unfair and puts unnecessary financial stress on those who sacrifice so much for our nation. Our troops don\u2019t cut corners in their service\u2014why should we cut corners on their housing?

Restoring full BAH isn\u2019t just about housing\u2014it\u2019s about keeping our promise to those who serve. Congress must act now. Urge your legislators to support the BAH Restoration Act, H.R. 1956, and ensure our servicemembers can afford a safe and stable home.
